Copeland Baskin Essays (602 words) - English-language Films

Copeland Baskin Mr. Conville English 1113 VT 25 February 2017 Makeup Artist is the Goal Through my journey of schooling, many of my leaders have asked me these three questions: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "Why?" "How are you going to get there?" I eventually realized the importance of those three questions. Therefore, as I got older I asked others what they wanted to be when they grow up. Everyone else wanted to become a doctor, nurse, veterinarian, or astronaut, but my dream was to become a Makeup Artist. The first reason I wanted to become a Makeup Artist was that my Aunt Vickie introduced me to makeup at a young age; seeing her apply makeup all the time made me mesmerized. Since then, I have always been intrigued by the way Makeup Artists made actors look in different genres of television. The first artist I respected and appreciated most for their makeup was Jack Pierce. His famous works were "Frankenstein," "The Wolf Man," and "Dracula." Jack Pierce reminds me of myself when applying makeup. He never uses the same scar or effect, and he creates an entirely new one. In addition, he takes a lot of time on his makeup , and so do I. Practice and timing makes perfect. My second favorite artist is Kevyn Aucoin. He worked with many models in music videos and even some actors that played in movies. One of Kevyn's quotes is inspiring not only to me but to many women in the world : "Makeup can be a first step in learning things about yourself you may never had discov ered otherwise." Beauty is more than just skin-deep. The second reason I want to become a Makeup Artist is I want to show the world my creativity. I adore the power cosmetics has to change a person's outlook. Everybody has magnificence; however, individuals frequently overlook that. When somebody does not see his or her beauty, how would anyone else? A touch of cosmetics is frequently all it takes for anyone to see their beauty once more. These little enhancements allow them to stroll through the world with their head held high. Self -confidence is a powerful thing. I accept if everybody felt better about himself or herself, that he or she would all live kinder lives. I would adore having the capacity to show individuals exactly how ravishing they are. The last reason I want to become a Makeup Artist is the traveling. Traveling will allow me to expand more as an artist and see beautiful places to notice the culture for future makeup ideas. An amazing benefit of being a Ma keup Artist while traveling, is all the fees are reimbursed. Who would not cherish a free road trip to different states? I can meet many producers, celebrities, and work with other artist. I will be able to do their makeup before a movie shoot or a music video. Making a name for myself, in many states for my makeup skills, would be a dream come true. The possibilities are virtually endless. In conclusion, I plan on going to cosmetology school, doing side jobs for proms and pageants, and publishing all of my work. Having a plan will push me in the right direction of achieving my goal as becoming a Makeup Artist. Becoming a Makeup artist opens doorways to financial freedom and security. Having fame and fortune in this career would bring me satisfaction but being able to make my visions a reality is what is most important to me.
